Chris Wilde gives regular courses on antique furniture appreciation. Courses cover all the major British furniture styles from c. 1650 - c. 1920, putting them in their social and historical context and also looking at differences in construction in different historical periods giving students pointers to enable them to distinguish between authentic antique pieces and later reproductions and copies. The courses are accompanied by notes and photographs but also include hands on examination of antique furniture. There are also visits to stateley houses and museums to see exceptional pieces. There are 3 day courses in Harrogate - an ideal location for a short break - but shorter talks and lectures can also be given on request. What students have said:
"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for our course last week. You where totally inspiring in the both knowledge you imparted and in your delivery. I know you must have put a huge amount of work in to make such a relaxed experience. I think many of us want to do the Advanced Georgian perhaps in the spring.
Many thanks and kind regards
Rebecca"
"I have been raving about your course since I arrived back in work so expect some interest.
