An exceptional quality late Victorian mahogany kidney-shaped desk profusely inlaid with satinwood, harewood and boxwood, depicting harebells, urns swag and shells. The desk has its original green leather and ococo style brass swan neck handles. The drawer linings are also mahogany. A fine example of the late Victorian Sheraton revival style, c.1900.

SOLD.....Victorian walnut partners' desk
A good quality Victorian parners' desk with highly decorative walnut veneers, c.1890. The desk has nine drawers one side and two cupboards and three drawers to the other side. The desk has its original brass fret handles and is on its original plinth base. It is a very good domestic size and has an attractive green leather tooled with gold leaf.

Georgian Desk
A good Georgian mahogany partners' desk, c.1800, with nine cockbeaded drawers to one side and a further three drawers over two cupboards to the other all fitted with original bramah locks. The desk has original ring pull brass handles and is a very good domestic size measuring 52.5" x 34" x 30"(high).

French Bureau en Pente
A superb bureau en pente by Parisian eboniste Charles-Guillaume DIEHL, c. 1860, with signature on the lock plate. The bureau has high quality brass mounts and very fine profuse marquetry inlays. The richly figured satinwood interior retains its orignal blaze of colour whilst the exterior has slightly faded to a lovely soft hue. The hinges are finely engraved. There is a drawer in the side and two small internal drawers.
Diehl exhibited in Paris in 1855 and in the 1867 Paris Exhibition. He made various forms of furniture including boulle, pietre dure, and profusely inlaid furniture of which this is a fine example. See "19th Century Furniture" by Christopher Payne(Antiques Collector's Club, Woodbridge), p.35

Georgian Mahogany Bureau
An attractive Sheraton style mahogany bureau, c.1800, with original oval brass plate handles and original swept bracket feet. The well figured fall is inlaid with boxwood and ebony and the interior is fitted with satinwood drawers and pigeon holes. A very useful piece of Georgin furniture in fine original condition.

SOLD...Walnut Fall Front Escritoire
A good figured walnut fall front escritoire or scriptor, c. 1710, of lovely colour standing on original bracket feet. The top section has a cushion moulded secret drawer beneath the cornice and feather banded fall enclosing a well fitted interior of drawers, and pigeon holes around a central cupboard, the top drawers concealing a series of secret drawers benind.
The well figured base has a cross grained double mould around the top and feather banded drawers. The internal handles are original, the external ones are of period but have been replaced.
